Project Ara Launch Delayed Till 2016
Google's modular phone is far from being ready.
Last month, we had published a piece about the state of project Ara. Google had made bold claims that the first Ara device will release in early 2015. We are halfway through the year, and there are no signs of it. Now finally, Ara's official Twitter handle has shed some lights on company's plans (or lack of it). It turns out that the project is officially delayed. The new release date is pushed to 2016.
Where are we headed next? We are looking at a few locations in the U.S. #ProjectAra #newlocationcomingsoon

For those not in the know, Ara has been Google's project to build a modular phone. The search-giant saw the future in this open-source hardware project, where upgrading phones would be as simple as playing with Lego blocks.
The official Twitter handle also suggests that the company is looking at a few locations in the US to launch the phone. However, the team has not given any details about the timeframe for the project. So there's a good chance that the project Ara may not see the light of day.
