Microsoft's Arrow Is Surprisingly Better Than Most Android Launchers
Currently in its test phase, the launcher keeps things simple.
Microsoft has bet big on its smartphone platform. However, it does not mind developing apps for every platform. Keeping up with that strategy, Microsoft has built a launcher for Android. Dubbed Arrow, the app APK is available for testing.
Microsoft's approach to Android is minimalistic. Plus, the company has made a good use of swipe gestures. I tested it on LG's Android device. The app replaces a few system icons.
The launcher offers three home screens — People, Apps, and Note & Reminders. All of which, I think is self-explanatory. There's a tiny upward arrow visible on every screen. You can swipe it up to access recent apps and settings.
All in all, the even in beta stage, the app feels much better than most Android launchers available out there. Mostly because, Microsoft has kept things simple rather than making things crowded.
The Arrow launcher is not available in the Play Store yet. However, you can download it, using the following link. Be prepared to encounter a few bugs though, as it is still in its test phase.
