Apple Plans To Increase iTunes Match Limit To 1,00,000 Songs

This was revealed by Apple Executive Eddy Cue on Twitter during a conversation with other Twitter users.

Apple seems to be planning to increase the limit of songs for the subscribers of iTunes Match from the current 25,000 to 1,00,000 songs in iCloud.

While this is not yet officially announced by the company, it was revealed by Apple Executive Eddy Cue on Twitter during a conversation with other Twitter users.

Also, along with the new 1,00,000 song limit, Cue has mentioned that all Apple Music subscriptions will essentially include iTunes Match.

According to the Apple’s website, Apple Music will match and upload any song its users own so that they can access them anywhere just like iTunes Match.

So, if there is any song or album which they want to listen to and it is not included in the Apple Music catalogue then they can just buy it from any source, upload it and then listen to it in the same app, no matter which device they use.

This combination of Apple Music and iTunes Match along with the new 1 lakh song limit, the company seems to be aiming at Google Play Music which allows its users to upload up to 50,000 songs and stream from a large catalogue of music as part of its subscription service.

However, while Google's music upload service is free, iTunes Match costs around $24.99 per year.
