Micromax Launches Canvas Sliver 5 At Rs 17,999

The smartphone is said to the world's slimmest smartphone with just 5.1 mm thickness.

 

Homegrown Micromax has recently come up a new smartphone dubbed as Canvas Sliver 5 which is just 5.1 mm in thickness.

Overly priced at Rs 17,999, Micromax Canvas Sliver is claimed to be the thinnest smartphone "end-to-end" and is also said to weigh just 97 grams.

However, while smartphone by Vivo and Oppo are thinner, they are not able to meet the Micromax's end-to-end criterion as they come with a protruding camera.

Talking about the technical specs of the new Canvas Sliver 5, it comes with 4.8 inch AMOLED screen with 16 GB internal storage and no microSD card slot making it unable to expand the storage space.

In the camera section, the Canvas Sliver 5 has an 8 MP rear camera with Sony sensor and 5 MP front facing camera along with a 2,000 mAh battery powering the single SIM smartphone.

Also, the new Canvas Sliver 5 is the company's second 4G phone and comes with a 2 GB RAM with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

However, keeping the specs and the price in mind, we feel the Rs 17,999 might be more than we might have expected, especially for a smartphone with Snapdragon 410 chipset backed by 2 GB RAM while we can have OnePlus One and Xiaomi Mi 4 64 GB smartphones with better specs for almost the same price.
