YouTube Comes Up With Cards; Replaces Annotations
These cards will provide more information with more flexibility and also available on mobile.
YouTube, the popular video sharing platform has come up with another new feature.
It looks like introducing new features is what YouTube loves a lot.
After the announcement of 360-degree video formats, the video sharing website has now come up with an announcement that the website will replace annotations with a new "cards" system that will work across desktop and mobile platforms.
According to Youtube's recent blog post, people have been using annotations to engage with their viewers.
However, people have not been able to share information with more flexibility and that is the reason why the company has introduced cards.
The blog post further explains that the cards can now inform viewers about other videos, merch, playlists, websites and more.
It has also been informed that these cards look as beautiful as videos and are available anytime during the video and that they also work on mobile.
The company has announced that there are six types of cards for now - Merchandise, Fundraising, Video, Playlist, Associated Website and Fan Funding.
To conclude, it looks like this new feature may now be a plus point and regular YouTube users may also rejoice at this feature which they have been waiting for from a long time now.
