OnePlus fans who have been waiting to receive an invite can jump for joy, as the handset goes on sale today minus that annoying invite system, that the company has been criticized for time and again.

The Chinese smartphone maker has even announced that it would be selling the One without the pre-order system for international customers every Tuesday.

Seems like OnePlus has indeed ramped up its production scale, or is pretty confident about how many handsets it needs to produce, so that it does not exceed the retail stock requirements.

Still then, the sudden purge makes us wonder if the smartphone maker has plans to push out its successor to the One, the OnePlus 2. The last we heard of the upcoming smartphone, was when Forbes broke the news about the Chinese smartphone maker not being ready for an immediate announcement for the 2 any time soon.

News is, OnePlus 2 will be announced in Q3 this year, which will give the smartphone maker plenty of time to analyse the market and come up with a true “flagship killer”.

Meanwhile, we are all awaiting the official announcement of OnePlus' own custom OS for its handset called the OxygenOS that is set to debut in two days.
