OnePlus One To Be Sold Without An Invite On January 20
What we are unclear about, are the markets that the sale will be open to.
OnePlus is actually going to hold an invite-free sale for its “flagship killer” smartphone, the OnePlus One. The handset will actually be up for sale, to purchase online without pre-order, or an invite and should directly start shipping to owners post the sale.
While there is no clear cut news about the markets, we have a hunch that this may not be for India. As Amazon, OnePlus’ official retailer stays mum on the topic.
The splash page that popped up recently gives very little information as well. It shows a countdown counter and mentions that the OnePlus will be up for sale with some accessories along with the regions (Asia, Europe, and North America) that it will take place in.
Seems like OnePlus as of now has steered clear of a pre-order system, and will continue to stick to the old invite system to ensure steady supply of handsets in India. This is more so because OnePlus produces its smartphone in limited quantities and makes almost no profits from it, as of now.
