For all those who had to wait for months for OnePlus One to come to India, here is a good news. Yes, the OnePlus have said that their second offering OnePlus Two will be available in India soon after its launch.
This comes in a few days after OnePlus announced that they were expecting India to be the biggest market. The One was recently launched in India and had evoked some good response.
Plan to make the second handset available soon after the launch was made revealed by Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus during an interview with India Today.
He also hinted that OnePlus Two will be launched during the Q2 or Q3 of 2015. A day ago OnePlus had also announced that they would be replaced any damaged One devices. This is because the company is planning to ship the spares to India only in Feb and this was a way to retain the customer satisfaction.
OnePlus One was launched in India earlier this month and the first shipment of 20,000 devices is already sold out and the company will ship similar number of smartphones in the second batch.
The good response in the Indian market is encouraging despite the fact that Cynogen entered into an exclusive partnership with Indian smatphone maker Micromax. Pei also revealed that on the day of the launch, OnePlus One received 2.1 lakh registrations for invite and the number is growing every day.
Going by the recent development, it looks like OnePlus Two will run not on CynogenMod in India. Pei said that they were close to releasing a system that is very close to stock Android and is compatible with Android Lollipop.
According to a latest report in TechnoBuffalo, the company’s second smartphone will feature a Snapdragon 805, with a 16-megapixel camera and bigger 33000mAh battery. While there had been talks that they might reduce the screen size, the report suggests that it is likely to stick to the 5.5-inch screen, but may sport a Quad HD resolution.
On the pricing side it is expected to come at $100 more than One, which puts it’s starting price around Rs. 30,000 in India.
