OnePlus Will Offer Full Warranty For Existing Indian One Owners
There are a few terms and conditions that you need to go through before you jump for joy.
OnePlus has announced via its official forums that it will offer standard warranty terms for existing Indian One Plus One smartphone owners. While OnePlus is known for being generous in the past, the company has been a bit too happy for its Indian fans, whom it claims have played a big role for OnePlus to prepare for the Indian market. This is considering the fact that OnePlus did not officially launch its smartphone in India in the first launch wave.
Clearly, there are quite a few Indian One owners out there (one look at the forums and you will know). While this may sound like good news for them, there are couple of things that current OnePlus One owners should be aware of:
- The device should be a global variant of the OnePlus One
- It should have been purchased directly from the oneplus.net portal
- The OnePlus One smartphone should (obviously) not be the Chinese variant of the smartphone
Those who purchased the OnePlus One via local retailers clearly seem to be out of luck. OnePlus has been working on setting up local representation in India lately and the post mentions that owners can get their handsets serviced out there.
The company is all geared up for the launch of its flagship beating smartphone in India, which is set to take place in December this year with the invite system. The OnePlus One is expected to begin retailing for about Rs 25,000 in India and will compete with a barrage of flagship smartphones that have launched this year, including the Xiaomi Mi 4 which should see a launch by December as well.
