Sony Xperia Z3 Compact Leaks Once Again
This time around we get some clearer shots of the camera module.
If you are a Sony fan, you clearly are waiting for their next flagship, the Xperia Z3. While we have witnessed plenty of leaks of Sony’s next flagship, we haven’t seen enough of its compact version tagged as the Xperia Z3 Compact. The last time around we saw some blurry images, giving us an idea about its form factor, but that clearly was not enough. So this time around, leaked images reveal a lot more about its a camera and display.
The Xperia Blog got hold of some more leaked images of Sony’s next ‘mini’ device. A close up image of the camera shows that the sensor is 1/2.3 inch type 20.7 MP Exmor RS sensor, which seems to have made its way from the Xperia Z1. Also unique to this handset is the location of the LED flash which now seems to be centred on the top end.
Images also reveal that USB port will again be hidden and will sit flush into the rounded borders of the handset. Charging should happen via the magnetic dock. Again the 3.5 mm jack seems to be open to the elements.
Last year’s Xperia Z1 Compact came with a 720p display. With Sony not taken the leap to Quad HD resolution with the Z2, we expect the Z3 Compact also to stick to the 720p display in a effort to keep the price down.
Its just a few months to go till the launch of the Xperia Z3 and the Z3 Compact at Sony’s event at IFA Berlin. With a refreshed, rounded design, let’s hope that Sony manages to excite us with better camera quality considering that the company is working on an all new curved image sensor after all.
