Leaked: LG's 'Not-So-Mini' G3 Beat
The G3 Beat is a shrunken version of the flagship G3, but it still a pretty massive phone.
Soon after Korean electronics giant unveiled its flagship G3 smartphone, a more compact version of the device has surfaced dubbed the G3 Beat. Most major manufacturers have been actively releasing 'mini' versions of high-end smartphones, but LG's soon-to-be-announced device is no such thing.
The G3 Beat will feature a 5-inch display, which is similar to or bigger than most flagship devices from its rivals. The device does look like a mini G3, but that's only because the LG flagship is oversized as it is. While the form factor is shrunken (depends on how you look at it) the phone still boasts of some powerful internals.
Accodring to pcpop.com (Chinese), the phone will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. Internal memory will stand at 16GB and will be expandable via a microSD card slot. The G3 Beat will also feature an 8MP primary camera, but there's nothing to indicate that the LASER autofocus system will be carried over from the G3.

A 2,500mAh battery will power all of that hardware, which will run Google's Android 4.4.2 KitKat right out of the box. It will even come with 4G LTE connectivity, but that could change depending on the market in which the phone is launched.
There certainly isn't anything 'mini' about the G3 Beat, except for its price tag. The rumours point that the device will be priced around 2,500 yuan which translates to nearly Rs 24,500. While no details about when the device could be launched have emerged, a mid-July reveal is our best guess.
