Lenovo Launches 7-Inch TAB A7-50 With Voice-Calling Functionality
The quad-core tablet packs in an HD screen and 5 megapixel camera.
People who love unwieldy phones rejoice, as Lenovo has unveiled a 7-inch tablet with voice calling functionality. The Chinese company is promoting its TAB A7-50 as an affordable companion for reading, Internet browsing, and calling. The device sports an HD display. It’s not IPS panel though, so don’t expect wide-viewing angles. Like all the budget tablets, the TAB A7-50 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MTK 8382 chipset clocked at 1.3 GHz. There’s 1 GB of RAM, which should be enough to handle Android 4.32 Jelly Bean.
The tablet comes with a 2 megapixel camera for selfies and video chatting. If you don’t mind looking stupid, you can use this slate’s 5 megapixel (fixed-focus) rear camera to snap photographs. The A7-50 comes with a single SIM card slot. It supports 3G as well as voice-calling capabilities. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and A-GPS. According to Lenovo, the 3450 mAh Li-Polymer fixed battery offers up to 8 hours of battery life. You get 16 GB of in-built storage and there’s also a microSD card slot storage expansion.
From the press images, the device looks quite good. The company claims that the tablet is 10 mm thick and weighs in at 320 grams. In India, the tablet is only available in Blue with a soft-touch finish.
The Lenovo TAB A7-50 is listed for Rs 15,500 on the company’s website. However, I’m sure you can easily get for around Rs 14k in the brick-and-mortar shop.
