Google+ Opens Up For Teens

We keep hearing about Google+ passing new milestones in record time. However, the level of activity in Google's offering is no match for that of Facebook. Therefore, to jazz up its user base, Google has now opened its social network to teens. Earlier, one needed to be at least 18 years old in order to register for this service.

The announcement has come from Google's VP - Product Management, Bradley Horowitz. He has also written about newly-added safety features specifically designed for teens. One such noteworthy feature has been implemented in Hangouts, and here's how it works: If a teen is engaged in video chat and someone outside his \ her circles joins in, Google+ will disconnect the minor from Hangouts and display a notification about the stranger. Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga's popularity on Facebook has proved that teens are the most active creatures in social networks. Hence, opening its doors to them will provide Google another chance to flaunt a sharp rise in its numbers.
