LG G Pro 2: Excellent Specs, But Won't Fit In Your Palm
Ahead of the MWC, LG has unveiled its flagship phone with 'OIS Plus' technology.
The Korean company has finally took the wraps off its G Pro 2. The handset seems to be promising, if you are into large phones that is.
The G Pro 2 sports a 5.9 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) HD IPS display with a rather slim 3.3 mm bezel which seems to be a growing trend these days with smartphone makers. What’s new is that it runs Android’s newest KitKat flavour combined with 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 800 processor (with 3 GB RAM) which should make it mighty quick to play even the most challenging apps and games.
The camera has been improved upon to great extent when compared to the last year’s G Pro. The new 13 MP camera module gets OIS Plus, which uses software enhancements to correct and sharpen images delivering a clearer image quality in low light or poorly lit conditions. In addition, there is also 4k video capture available with a 120 fps slow motion and a burst shot mode.
Another improvement is the speaker, a 1 W Hi-Fi sound unit capable of delivering sound 30% louder than the older G Pro. Remember the strange invite they send across with the words “knock-knock knockin’ on,”? Well that had to do with the new Knock to turn ON or wake up feature. With this option you can actually customise the number of taps, bumps or knocks to unlock the phone with the Knock Code.
The large handset also carries forward the new design cues that involves mounting the volume keys at the back. To bring it all together, we can say this is a worthy upgrade if you are looking for an upgrade to your older G Pro or any other similar sized handset.
The device comes in Titan, White and Silver colours and while it has been announced, there is no news about when it would go on sale. All we know is that Korea will be the first to get it; but there is no word about a worldwide release just yet.
