Rumour: Micromax To Launch A Smartphone With 4000 mAH Battery
But, is bigger always better?
Last we heard of a massive battery from Micromax, it came from the Micromax Canvas Juice. The phone packed in a massive 3000 mAh battery which easily lasted an entire day for a power user. Well, this time around there is news about Micromax making a device called the Micromax Canvas Power, which well focuses on just one thing — Power!
The device is said to have as it shows on the leaked box images, a 4000 mAh battery unit. The box art also puts the thought behind the phone’s design down in a pretty straight forward manner. There’s a big hazard like sign that shows the charge symbol with the letters ‘with 4000 mAh battery’ in large letters.
Big batteries in phones are growing trend among manufacturers especially with devices that touch the phablet territory. The massive Full HD screens along with powerful processors are bound to drain batteries quickly which is why they need ample battery life to get even 9 hours of usage out of them. Last we noticed, Nokia with its 1520 did not hold back either.
But there is a problem here. With all devices that grow larger, comes the problem of weight. Bigger, juicier batteries simply means that your phone will grow heavier. So they key is to have a smaller battery with software optimised to make optimum use of it.
Micromax’s full-blown approach to delivering battery power may lead to heavier pockets in the case of the Canvas Power.
From what else can be seen on the box, the device packs some pretty decent hardware:
- 1.3. GHz Quad core processor
- 5-inch touch screen
- Expandable 32 GB memory
- 5.0 MP Primary Camera; 2.0 MP Secondary Camera
- 720p video playback and recording
- Supports GSM and CDMA bands
- Android Jelly Bean V 4.2
- 4000 mAh battery with 13.5 hours talktime
