Google+ Goes Past 90 Million Mark
Gets to the figure is just under a year.
Finally, Google has made itself count in the social networking arena. Its Google+ service has officially gone past 90 million users since its launch in June last year. By July, it had already registered 20 million users. Google CEO Larry Page said, "I am super excited about the growth of Google Plus, which now has 90 million users globally well over double what I announced just three months ago. By building a meaningful relationship with our users through Google Plus we will create amazing experiences across our services".
As far as numbers are concerned, it took rival Facebook four years to reach the 90 million mark. However, FB now boasts of 800 million users worldwide. Google has actively promoted the service from the time it launched. Looking at how FB is trying to up the user experience value by introducing new apps, Google will have to up its ante to stay in the race.
