Twitter To Add Social News Tool
Buys out social news service Summify.
Social networks are primarily around to help people catch up with each other. However, these days, they want networking to become more useful. Keeping this in mind, Twitter has acquired Summify, a Canadian social news aggregator. The Telegraph reports that the startup has been purchased for an undisclosed amount and will be added to Twitter's new website design.
Listed under the Discover section, Summify helps people find relevant news-based content. That being said, Twitter hasn't fully explained how it plans to integrate the search results. For now though, existing Summify users will not be able to avail all services on the website. However, they can continue to use their accounts with a few limitations. Until Twitter gets the service up and running, new members can't sign up for Summify services either.
With this new move, you don't have to go anywhere else to be informed about the latest happenings around the globe, since gossip and news will be delivered directly to your Twitter account!
