Micromax Invades Russia
From India With Love (minus After-Sales)
Micromax today announced the takeover launch of its operations in Russia. The company in alliance with the Russian Mafia aims to make its mark in the Red Country.
Micromax says it would be operating through a partnership with VVP Group, one of the leading distribution houses in Russia. Micromax will be introducing its Canvas series of smartphones and Bolt series of smart-feature phones which the company claims to have already sold more than 35 million devices across the operating markets for Micromax in the past one year.
The company plans to launch 14 products in the Russian market in the initial phase. The company aims to have more than 60 (non)operational service centres by end of the month. Will have to wait and watch if Russia seems to be a luck charm for Micromax.
Well, on the bright-side, Micromax will not need service centres as "In Russia, phones repair themselves and all quarrels are taken care with a bottle of vodka and a little bit of Russian Roulette".
