Google Play Games App Launched, Available For Download
The application requires devices to be running Android 2.2 and above.
Google has now made its Google Play Games application available officially, which also provides for users to indulge in social gaming. The Google Play Games app has been launched alongside the latest Nexus 7 and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Google's Play Games is already being compared to the Apple Game Center, and competes with the Microsoft Xbox Live and Amazon Game Circle as well.
Earlier in the year, Google unveiled the Play Games Service with features including real-time multi-player support and leaderboards. In its new iteration, the emphasis seems to be on presenting games that takes full advantage of the device's graphics engine. The Play Games app is available as a free download, along with Google+ integration, so you can play with your G+ friends. Various new games such as Prince of Persia, Asphalt 8, and Airborne can be downloaded from the app.
Earlier, Google revamped the design of its Play Store and added a tile-like design, along with a new navigation pane on the left. A "Wishlists" option has also been added to postpone app/game installations.
