Lenovo Ideapad A1000 Now In Online Stores

The Android 4.1 tablet comes with a 7" screen, and supports voice calls.

 

Lenovo's voice-calling tablet, the IdeaPad A1000 that had been unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) earlier this year, has now made its way to India. The Lenovo IdeaPad A1000 sports a 7" display, and can even double up as a "freakishly huge smartphone", thanks to its voice calling feature. It packs in a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, with 1 GB of RAM and will run Android 4.1 out of the box. The key tech-specs of the device include:

  • 7" capacitive touch screen display, with 1024x600 pixels.
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating platform.
  • 1.2 GHz dual-core MediaTek8317 processor.
  • SIM-card support for calling functionality.
  • 0.3 MP front camera for video calls.
  • 1 GB DDR2 RAM.
  • 4 GB internal storage.
  • MicroSD card slot for expansion up to 32 GB.
  • 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, USB.
  • 3500 mAh battery with claimed Wi-Fi browsing time of 8 hours.

Lenovo's IdeaPad A1000 also comes with dual graphics and dual speakers the integrates Dolby Audio technology. Lenovo IdeaPad A1000 costs Rs 9000, and seems to be currently "out of stock" on Lenovo's official online store. The slate competes locally with the Asus MeMo Pad (7"display, Android 4.1, priced at Rs 8K) and the Micromax Funbook Talk P360 (7" display with calling functionality, Android 4.1,  priced Rs 7K).
