Google Hangouts Now Support Voice Calling
Google says more features are on the way.
Internet major Google has released a new update, which brings voice-calling feature to desktop Hangouts, across Google+, Gmail, and the Chrome extension. Along with this functionality, Google has also announced toll free calls to the United States and Canada from all supporting countries.
Google says that the calling feature will be rolled out to all Hangouts users in the next couple of days. Users can then use the service to converse (even make video calls) with up to 10 other people at once. In line with this, Google also suggests that users can expect more Google Voice features to be integrated with Hangouts.
Once live, users will notice a phone-like icon in their Gmail accounts, and the "Call a Phone" menu option in Google+ and Chrome extension. Google, has been on a product revamping spree, as the internet giant changed the user interface (UI) of its popular Google Maps service, and even released the redesigned Google Maps app for Android.
The full tariff list with rates for voice calls to various countries can be found on the official Gmail blog.
