ASUS Launches Thinnest Transformer Book TX300 For Rs 92,000
Windows 8 convertible with a detachable keyboard sports a 13.3" Full HD touchscreen and is powered by an Intel Core i5 CPU.
ASUS has launched the Transformer Book TX300, which is being touting as the world's thinnest Windows 8 tablet. The convertible device sports the form factor of a tablet, with a detachable keyboard dock. The tablet houses all the computing hardware, while the keyboard comes with a few ports and an extra, integrated battery. In case you are wondering how thin it really is, the tablet has a thickness ranging from 4 mm to 11 mm, while the dock is 3 mm to 12.9 mm. One of the other highlights of this tablet is its 13.3" 1080p IPS touchscreen, which should result in crisp visuals with 178 degrees viewing angles. It packs in Bang & Olufsen ICEpower speakers, powered by ASUS's SonicMaster audio to provide better sound quality. This Windows 8 Professional device doesn't lack in computing power either, with a 3rd Gen Intel Core i5 CPU, 4 GB of RAM, and a hybrid-combo of 500 GB HDD and 128 GB SSD — a good combination of performance and storage space. Here are the product's specifications:
- Microsoft Windows 8 Professional.
- 13.3" Full HD IPS touch panel.
- Intel 3rd Gen Core i5-3337U CPU clocked at 1.7 GHz.
- 4 GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM.
- 500 GB 5400 RPM HDD + 128 GB SSD.
- Intel HD 4000 graphics.
- Band & Olufsen ICEpower integrated speakers.
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0.
- 2xUSB 3.0 ports.
- Front HD camera, Rear 5 megapixel camera.
- 2-cell 5000 mAh battery + 2-cell 3120 mAh battery.
- Dimensions and Weight: Tablet – 340 mm (W) x 213 mm (D) x 4 ~11 mm (H), 0.95 kg; Dock – 340 mm (W) x 219 mm (D) x 3 ~12.9 mm (H), 0.95 kg.
- Sleeve accessory.
The good thing is that the battery backup of this tablet is augmented by the 3120 mAh battery in the keyboard, thus offering better portable usage. It will come with a 2-year international warranty, so you can take it along anywhere and rest assured that any problem will be taken care of. The ASUS Transformer TX300 will be available in India from the 2nd week of July 2013, at a steep MRP of Rs 92,000 at select ASUS-authorised retail outlets.
