Samsung Launches Quad-core GALAXY Grand Quattro In India
Features 1 GB RAM, 5 megapixel camera, dual-SIM functionality, and sports a sensible price tag.
The world's leading smartphone-maker Samsung has added a new handset to its GALAXY Grand series. Dubbed as the Grand Quattro, it's a dual-SIM cell phone with 4.7" screen. Design-wise, it looks much like the S4 and the S III, so you'll have no trouble flaunting it. At Rs 16,500, it is the cheapest quad-core phone from Samsung, which will be the Quattro's selling point. On the flipside, it features a run-of-the-mill TFT display with 480x800 pixels. Its pixel density is nothing to write home about. Guess that's a given with the Grand brand. Moving along, for photography there's a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera with an LED flash. Other specs include 1 GB RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, microSD slot, and 2000 mAh battery. The phone runs Android Jelly Bean out of the box. The detailed specs are as follows:
- 4.7" screen with pixel dimensions of 480x800.
- 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU, 1 GB RAM.
- 8 GB of internal storage, MicroSD card slot.
- 5 megapixel camera with flash, VGA front-facing camera.
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.0, A-GPS.
- Dual-SIM (GSM); Supports 3G.
- 2000 mAh battery.
- Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
From the specs, the Samsung Grand Quattro I8552 seems like an improvisation of the original Grand. Well technically, anything that's usable is better than the Grand. The price too is much more sensible than what the Grand Duos I9082 was launched for (or what it sells for even now). As a special introductory offer, the device will come with a digital wallet of Rs 3000 applicable on games, valid for 90 days.
