Remote Desktop Feature Supported With App In Google+ Hangouts

It eliminates the process of having to buy third-party software and prevents piracy of such applications.

After incorporating an extra Capture Application that enables users to take snapshots within Google+ Hangout sessions, Google has now embedded Remote Desktop app within Google+ Hangouts. With this, people offering tech-support can do so by seeing and talking with the person they are offering support to. Earlier, Google had introduced the Remote Desktop to its Chrome web browser.

To access Remote Desktop in Hangout sessions, Google+ users need to checkout the Hangout apps section, and select View More Apps > Add Apps > Hangouts Remote Desktop. However, to use the feature, users need to obtain permissions from other end users before starting a new session. Although the feature looks pretty minor at this stage, it helps in bridging the communication gap, that generally exists during the process of Remote Troubleshooting (the gap refers to end-users not getting a clear idea of what is done by the troubleshooter), as people can now observe better and learn the various nuances of troubleshooting systems.

It is worth noting this feature would be usable in Home editions of Windows as well, although it would still be limited to the Windows OS only. With Remote Desktop now being supported in Google+ Hangouts, users don't need specialized software such as TeamViewer and cut-down on illegally pirating commercial versions of these software.
