Google+ Adds A "Photos Only" Filter
Google's new modification takes a direct dig at Facebook's revamp of news feeds.
Google+ has been making inroads into the social networking arena in its attempt to catch up with Facebook. In fact, Google+ received a tweak just ahead of Facebook's much-publicised news feed revamp. The last last set of changes saw Google+ pages sport bigger cover photos, a modified "About" tab, and a new "Local" tab.
In its latest makeover session, Google has brought about is a separate search filter, which displays photo posts exclusively. Users need to type in their image search query and select "photos" from the dropdown filter. This allows users to sort out photos from other content types such as events, hangouts, and various other updates. Looking at this current development by Google, and Facebook that altered its News feed service to lay emphasis on image content; both services seem to look at images as a crowd-puller.
