UPDATE: The company PR has confirmed that this tablet only supports BSNL GSM SIMs.
Wishtel, in association with BSNL, has launched the IRA ICON tablet, which runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The IRA ICON is powered by a 1.2 GHz CPU with 1 GB of RAM. It has a 7" capacitive multitouch screen with pixel dimensions of 800x480. The device ships with 4 GB of internal storage and 32 GB microSD slot. The 3G SIM slot allows it to be used for voice as well as VoIP and video calls from anywhere. Wishtel claims the 4000 mAh battery supports 3 to 4 hours of usage. The IRA ICON sports dimensions of 7.7" (l) x 4.7" (w) x 0.3" (7 mm) (d), and tips the scales at 400 grammes. Here are the detailed specifications:

USB OTG (On-The-Go) functionality features on the device; this allows you to connect various peripherals, including storage drives and input devices. On the software front, the tablet supports the Google Play store, which gives you access to a host of free and paid applications and games. It comes preloaded with educational apps such as Wish Learning and Wish News, and entertainment apps such as Wish Studio and Wish TV.
The appeal of the Wishtel IRA ICON is diminished somewhat by its price tag of Rs 10,500, which is as high as a 10" tablet. The tablet can be booked at Wishtel's online store. The company PR has mentioned that while you can book it online right away, it will not be available until next week.
