This official app for the popular tennis tournament comes with a live radio feature.
The 2012 Wimbledon Championships has just started, and what better way to keep track of the event than via a dedicated app? While it's been available on iOS for a sometime now, the app has finally made its way to Android.
Much to the delight of every tennis fan, this is the go-to place for all things Wimbledon. You will find this year's roster, as well as the match schedule, stats, results, and real-time scores. You can also pick out any player from the roster and view his \ her full profile. An interesting addition is a live internet radio feature called Live@Wimbledon, which works well on speedy network connections. There are a total of three channels covering the matches.
If you don't want to bother with the minor matches, a quick glance through the news section gives you all the top headlines, ranging from upsets to easy victories. Overall, the neat and simplistic UI makes for a enjoyable experience. While the app is pretty similar to the one on iOS, I personally prefer latter's UI simply because it is smooth and easy on the eye. That's not to say that the Android version is bad: in fact, it does better in some areas. In conclusion, you can't go wrong with either version of the app.
