OnePlus Launches OnePlus 5 Soft Gold Limited Edition In India

The smartphone will be debuting on Amazon.in starting from Aug 9 for Rs 32,999.

 

OnePlus has recently announced the launch of a new limited edition variant of its recently launched flagship, OnePlus 5. The company has announced that the ‘OnePlus 5 Soft Gold Limited Edition’ as it is called, will be debuting during the Independence Day Sale event on Amazon.in.

According to a recent press release, the launch of a limited edition model of OnePlus 5 is due to an overwhelming response OnePlus 3/3T Soft Gold variants got last year. However, it is also being touted that the Soft Gold OnePlus 5 is 30 per cent finer than that of previous OnePlus Soft Gold devices.

Speaking on the new launch, Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, OnePlus India, said “As a maker of the most beautifully designed smartphones, it gives us immense joy to introduce the latest OnePlus 5 with even more refined and elegant Soft Gold finish this festival season. The latest OnePlus 5 Soft Gold will appeal to those who are looking for the perfect balance of beautiful design and powerful features."

The company further explains in the press release — It takes an average of 180 days to create and perfect a coating of soft gold. Getting a perfectly even and light color starts with running premium aluminum alloy through a diamond cutter.  The surface is then sandblasted and polished with intense precision. Each second matters in this process, or the anodized color takes on a different shade. It's an extensive process, but the result is worth it - a stunning matte finish, pleasing to see and feel.

Starting Aug 9 at 12:00 AM, the limited-edition OnePlus 5 Soft Gold with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage will be available for Rs 32,999 on Amazon.in. The smartphone is also available on oneplusstore.in.
