CES 2017: LG Launches Gram 14 Laptop

The company claimed earlier that the laptop would stay alive for 24 hours on a single charge.

LG has launched its new laptop dubbed as Gram 14 at the ongoing CES 2017 trade show. The laptop features a 14 inch FHD IPS display powered by a Intel’s latest Kaby Lake processor under the hood.

While the laptop seems to be the same as its predecessor, the new variant sports a touchscreen. It also features RAM of up to 16 GB and SSD storage of up to 512 GB.

On the connectivity end, the new Gram 14 comes with two USB 3.0 ports, one USB Type C port, microSD card slot, HDMI port, and WiFi. Also, the company claims that the laptop is equipped with fast charging feature, and supports Windows Hello as it also has a fingerprint sensor.

To recall, the LG Gram 14 laptop gained attention for all unwanted reasons, especially when the company claimed that the laptop would run for around 24 hours on a single charge.

Though the company tried to prove this with a benchmark result, many portals including CNET pointed out that the MobileMark 2007 benchmark tool that was used by LG was 10 year old tool. In-fact, the tool also faced criticism around eight years ago.

It is being said that the tool presumes that users will be using the laptop without any WiFi connection and display screen’s brightness set to very low.
