Meet The Kissenger: An Accessory That Lets You Kiss Remotely

The weird product aimed at people in long distance relationship.

For thousands of years, the use of technology has made our lives better. However, in the age of "kickstarter" projects, usefulness is mostly replaced by gimmicks. The prime example of this is the latest invention from the City University London. PhD student Emma Yann Zhang has developed a device that lets you kiss your loved ones remotely. Dubbed as Kissenger, this cringe-inducing accessory currently only works with the iPhone.

Emma Yann Zhang claims that she developed this product to overcome the problems of a long distance relationship. Here's the statement from Kissenger's official website: "Plug in to your phone and give your loved ones a kiss over the Internet. Kissenger can sense your kiss and transmit realistic kissing sensations to your partner in real time. You can also feel the force on your lips when your partner kisses you back. Share an intimate moment with your friends and families while chatting with them on your phone".

The accessory is fitted with precision force sensors under the silicon lip. These sensors measure pressure at different parts of your lips and beams it to your phone. This date is then transmitted over the Internet to your partner in real time. Based on the input, the actuators on your partner's Kissenger react. The woman behind the Kissenger thinks that it is inevitable that humans will form intimate relationships with artificial intelligence and robots. However, according a report, she recently stated that, "this research will not attempt to conclude whether it is ethically acceptable to have intimate relationships with robots."
