Apple iPhone 'Touch Disease' Brings It Under Legal Scanner
A large number of users of the iPhone 6 and 6Plus models have been experiencing unresponsive screens and gray bars appearing in corners, resulting in a lawsuit against the company.
Just when one thought that Apple devices were incorruptible, it seems there is a shocker on the way. A group of 3 users are now pushing for a class-action status over a lawsuit against Apple, where they allege that a large number of iPhone users are having their handsets die-down on them. Most of them are experiencing frozen and unresponsive screens, and have a grey bar appear on their iPhone 6 and 6Plus models, which obviously is taking a daunting procedure to make devices operational again.
According to details available on Techcrunch, a particular design flaw is known to be responsible for the problem. Due to the slight bend and lack of rigidity in the physical body of these phones, it is reportedly unseating a critical touchscreen control chip from the logic board. This then causes the screens on the iPhones to become unresponsive, and also bring in the gray band on the screen, thus resulting in the 'touch disease' as the problem is being called.
So far with the details of the legal case is concerned, the case has been filed at the California Northern District federal court, where the plaintiff's allege that the problem was known to Apple, and that they refused to acknowledge or rectify the problem. They have mentioned that the problem was there with the iPhone 5s and 5c models as well, but then, they did their bit to protect consumers. The plaintiffs are being represented by law form McCuneWright , and have opened the case up to any consumer who may have suffered because of the this problem with their iPhone 6 and 6Plus handsets.
