Reliance Jio To Soon Introduce JioLink Wifi Hotspot
The company attempts to bring the indoor 4G hotspot to the masses and is priced at INR 2,500.
Expected to hit Reliance Digitals early next week, the news of Reliance JioLink router launch was reported by FoneArena. According to the report an anonymous tip off by a reader revealed the launch details. If reports are to be believed, the company, in order to attract users, will offer unlimited data and access to all Jio applications for 90 days.
JioLink will enable users to use Jio's high-speed 4G services on devices which don't support Jio's LTE bands. The JioLink uses an outdoor customer premise equipment (CPE) with a unidirectional antenna which in turn will be connected to Outdoor CPEs positioned over the rooftop of one’s home or workplace. This will enable the connection with telco's high-speed data network that provides indoor broadband service with the help of fiber and an indoor WiFi router. JioLink unit features a RJ45 port and is connected to the antenna by means of a Cat5 / Cat 6 cable.
Last year Aircel, Tikona and Airtel began to offer their users high-speed 4G LTE services. It would be interesting to have Reliance JioLink join the race to provide seamless data connectivity to its users. RTN.ASIA has reported that Reliance Jio has adverasely affected Bharti Airtel’s data subscriber additions as per the operational results for the Apri-June quarter. The report also suggests that the Reliance Jio is expected to have around 2.5 million subscribers and would overtake Bharti Airtel as India’s biggest wireless data service provider.
