Chandigarh Is The Venue For Revv Self-Drive Car Rental Service Launch
Chandigarh will be the next city for Revv operations with a fleet of 25 cars, on the self-driving rental model.
Traditionally car rentals have entailed a car being with serviced with the chauffeur, who would drive around the passenger to the required destination. The self-driven model on the other hand, allows the custom to hire a vehicle of his/her choice, drive it for the stipulated duration, and pay the service provider as per terms and conditions, pre-decided. Though it is relatively more common in markets like the United States, it is yet to pick up in India. Hence, Revv's strategy of expansion, makes them an early entrant with a concept that urban India will take a strong liking too. Revv's service gives one the privacy of one's own car, but doesn't include the ownership of the same.
To ensure transparency of all it's services, Revv has some distinct features, which has been there since the July 2015 inception of the company. They include the pure-play doorstep delivery of its vehicles. nlimited kilometer pricing even for hourly rentals, and a driver behavior monitoring system (DBM), is what sets the car-rental company ahead of any competition. Also, while delivery the executives of the company are equipped with electric foldable scooters placed at the back of the vehicles, which are used by the executives to return to the parking hub, after they deliver to the customer.Anupam Agarwal, the CEO and Co-founder of Revv said, “After witnessing high repeat-usage and positive customer feedback on the innovations from our existing operational cities, we ventured into Chandigarh because we can foresee an enormous potential in the car rental segment of the city. Our low cost and highly convenient service model endeavours to shift the consumer behaviour towards adopting self-drive rentals for mainstream usage and eventually establish it as a highly affordable product catering to mass-market usage.”
While one may not have the resources to attend special gatherings in the vehicle of their desire, or perhaps execute the road-trip they have been planning for a long time, Revv's venture in Chandigarh should attack the North-Indian market as a cheaper alternative that consumers have been looking. It will also perhaps determine the speed at which they attend the other markets like Delhi, which could be a tough spot to compete, as consumers have alternatives like OLA and Uber rooling the roost. Keywords: revv, driver monitoring system, chandigarh, car rental
