iOS 7.1 release is only a few weeks away, and Apple fans are neck-deep into assumptions. Rumour has it that the date is going to be “around March 15”. It’s said that the upcoming software all set to overhaul Mobile Device Management (MDM). According to AppleInsider.com, the 7.1 update will “improve iOS managed deployment” by adding “never before seen features”. For Apple, innovation has always been a ritual, but the line “Never before seen features” still gets us excited. Now without further ado, here’s what to expect from the iOS 7.1 update.

Fixing the black-outs
Apple’s iOS 7 has disappointed many users in multiple ways, but the biggest issue has been the inconsistent performance. For seconds stretching to minute, the phone would black out and stay unresponsive. This can be overlooked as a taken-for-granted phenomenon in case of Android devices, but for Apple users, this is something “new” (not in a good way). If you have been using iOS 7, you know what I’m on about. The problem can strike when you’re on a call, trying to click a photograph, or simply browsing the web. The Cupertino-based company has acknowledged this issue and has promised a fix. So expect these frequent crashes to be history with the upcoming software update. 

A high-on-speed performance
iOS 7.1 is rumoured to be a faster and streamlined version of iOS 7. Recently tested against Android’s latest Kitkat 4.4, the iOS 7.1 wins the battle of speed by leaps and bounds even beta stage. Users of older iPads have complained of performance lag and its inability to match up to the speed of the latest versions. iOS 7.1 shows hope to deliver the users from such limitations. Users with older hardware(s) stand the chance to enjoy better experience with this latest version soon being available in the market. Even the animations are rumoured to speed up with iOS 7.1.

Few appealing visual changes
If you are among those who prefer consistency, then having the screen change its colours and look at regular interval might turn out to be a bit annoying. Thankfully, Apple is aware of the issue. Without disturbing the look and feel of iOS 7 drastically, iOS 7.1 will likely feature some slight visual changes in context to the slide-to-unlock functions, the phone dialer, music and keyboard. For instance, most rectangular buttons will be replaced by circular buttons for the sake of consistency. The Music app in iOS 7.1 will have more prominent Shuffle All and Repeat buttons.

‘iOS in the Car’ feature
Of course you have been waiting for this since long. Apple's ‘iOS in the Car’ feature will allegedly debut in iOS 7.1 (reminds us of Nokia’s Car Mode). Unveiled in WWDC 2013, this feature will improve upon the usability. With ‘iOS in the Car’, you'll now be able to connect your iOS devices to compatible car accessories to access maps, directions, messages, and more. This feature will allow your iPhone to display certain content on your vehicle's navigational screen.

Siri that sounds more human
Many loners who love to chat with Siri have complained that she still sounds like a robot. To please its fans, Apple is expected to make her voice more natural in the 7.1 version. The major changes will happen in English (UK and Australia), Japanese, and Mandarin Siri.
