13th Aug 2016The week started off with PMO mobile app being launched on Android developed by a group of six engineering students who had won a contest last year, organized by MyGov Portal. Then, Google celebrated Rio Olympics with a fruit doodle, Apple iPhone 7 was leaked in a video on a YouTube channel, and Microsoft hinted about two major Windows 10 updates to be rolled out next year. Along with this, Google shocked the whole of Internet by removing Palestine from the map!
It wasn't just this! This week, we also saw, as usual, a number of exciting launches, like, New Le 2 variant by LeEco, Vibe C2 Power by Lenovo, Cinemax 3 by Zen Mobile, Smart LED TVs by Micromax, Smart Shirt by Arrow, HD LED TVs by Kodak, M3E by Meizu and Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in India.
On the other hand, we listed out a number of deals and offers on the occasion of Independence Day, and 10 Indian apps that have actually been downloaded more than a million times, while celebrating India’s Digital Diversity. We also listed out some of the iconic mobiles that gave Indians freedom.

News of freedom over a radio and writing a feature on freedom on a computer - we have come a long way. It set us thinking the significance of radio back in those days, the technology used then and now this country is a formidable force in the world of technology.
Iconic Mobiles That Gave Indians Freedom
While we often complain about promotional calls, unwanted social media posts and silly WhatsApp forwards, a few generations back, folks had some real problems. Sending a word out was a daunting task, which was largely dependent on runners and scanty networks of post offices. Things started becoming efficient as India got its first electric telegraph (Taar) line between Calcutta and Diamond Harbour in 1850. Soon, the network expanded into other cities such as Peshawar, Agra, Bombay, Madras, and Bangalore. By 1854, the service was opened to the lesser mortals.
New Video Leak Shows Apple iPhone 7
Apple iPhone 7 has already topped the rumour mill with a number of leaks and tips spilling out almost every day. Recently, we came across @Evleaks tweeting about the iPhone 7 being launched in September, this year. Considering that, with just a month away for it's launch, there a new leak video that boasts the iPhone 7 in all glory. The video has been uploaded on a YouTube channel -- Bshop Kuwa.
HTC 10 Gets World's First USB Type C Headphones
While USB Type C audio is making rounds, JBL has announced the availability of its headphones, dubbed the Reflect Aware C. If you remember, the headphones were announced back in April, alongide the HTC 10 smartphone. JBL Reflect Aware C is claimed as being the world's first USB Type C earphones that come with a USB-C standard connector and work with only a few smartphones that currently have said 'good-bye' to the 3.5 mm audio port.

Will Apple Launch An ‘All Glass’ iPhone?
With Apple sales dipping worldwide and the launch its iPhone 7 due this september, fresh reports suggest that fans could soon expect an all glass iPhone. Japanese website Nikkei has reported that Foxconn Technology Group is developing a glass casing for Apple as the part of the smartphone redesign. The revamped design, as per reports, is set to be unveiled only next year and Apple is determined to boost its dipping sales and fight off competition from rivals like Samsung and Huawei. Foxconn Technology has reportedly been working on the all glass feature since last year.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Arrives In India
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been launched in India at INR 59,900 and the company has announced that pre-bookings will begin from August 22 and at a special price of INR 1,990 customers can purchase the new Gear VR headset with the flagship phablet. Samsung Gear VR if bought separately would cost you INR 7,290. The Korean tech giant launched Samsung Galaxy Note 7 globally on August 2, and became the first Samsung smartphone to feature an Iris scanner, which is one of the key features of the device.
Microsoft Hints At Two Major Windows 10 Updates In 2017
Just when Microsoft announced the roll out of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, it seems that the tech giant is looking forward to bring two major updates next year. According to a recent post on NDTV Gadgets 360, the company wrote in a blog, "Windows 10, version 1607 is our third Windows 10 feature update released. Based on feedback from organisations moving to Windows 10, this will be our last feature update for 2016, with two additional feature updates expected in 2017."
A Phone With 8 GB RAM And 40 MP Camera In The Making?
While we are still not sure about a phone with 8 GB RAM and 40 MP camera in the making, a recent unveil has definitely increased expectations! The recent launch of MediaTek Helio X30 SoC allows us to easily dream of some spectacular features in smartphones coming in the future. Some of them are 8 GB RAM and 40 MP camera. According to a recent announcement by MediaTek, the new deca-core processor is claimed to be capable of supporting upto 8 GB RAM. Probably it's about time to forget the 4 GB RAM. Technology is for sure growing faster!
