Today, we have another Brainwavz earphone -- the S1 in-ear headphone that comes with all-metal housing. The earphone sports an integrated microphone along with remote to control volume and play/pause, and most importantly... the S1 comes with a flat cable. This means that, the chances of breaking down of the cable is far less compared to every other earphone.

The Brainwavz S1 comes with an attractive box with all the needed information regarding the technical specifications and attractive diagrams depicting the inside portion of the S1 earphones. On the package, the company has clearly mentioned that the earphones are specifically designed for Apple iOS devices and the volume control may not support Android smartphones or other audio devices.

The earphone comes with a unique design, and its metal finishing and flat cable make it look premium. The S1 comes with a 3.5 mm gold plated audio jack. Also, since the earphone is not compatible with Android smartphone, I could observe a strange noise in the background while recording through the integrated microphone. However, the earphone testing was done with my Lenovo ZUK Z1 and not an iPhone. If it would have been an iPhone, the case would have been completely different… since the earphone is specifically designed for iOS devices.

Speaking about the sound reproduction, the Brainwavz S1 is capable of producing deep bass and rich audio with great details. While the previously launched Brainwavz M5 produced an overall overwhelming sound, the newly launched S1 is more on the bass side, though mids and highs are also clearly produced.

The sealed box contains 8 pairs of silicon eartips and a pair of comply foam ear tips. Now, you can choose one that fits right into your ear. The product comes with 24-month warranty and a hard carrying case, that is similar to what Brainwavz has been giving with almost all of its earphones. It's pretty solid and definitely won't damage your earphone while travelling.

Being a bass-heavy earphone, the S1 is definitely a good choice for bass lovers, and my rating out of 5 would be 4.5 for sure!
